Westminster appoints First-Ever Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

New position to provide leadership for campus diversity issues, strengthen programming

SALT LAKE CITY – Westminster announces that Marco Barker, Ph.D., has been selected as the college’s new associate vice president for diversity, equity and inclusion beginning September 30. The new position will work in the community and across campus to promote inclusive excellence at Westminster.

In his role as AVP, Barker will report to the president and serve as a member of the senior executive team. He will be responsible for providing leadership for campus diversity initiatives with focus on strengthening three key areas: internal programs, community relations and strategic planning.

“Marco brings a wealth of experience in the areas of diversity, inclusion and equity to Westminster,” said Stephen Morgan, Westminster president. “By creating this important new AVP position, we are committed to making meaningful change in these areas. I look forward to seeing our programs and relationships flourish under his leadership.”
